|One of the highlights of the week is hearing and getting to know our featured speaker. With the ranch capacity at 55 guests, the setting for the morning study and evening firesides are very informal and cozy. The speaker and his family hike the mountains, play golf, ride horses, fish for trout, laugh along with everyone, participate in the events and roast marshmallows with all the guests. We have been blessed to have nationally known authors, speakers, evangelists, and pastors who love this type of setting. Listed below is the line up for the summer. Please call if you have any questions. Believe me, if they are coming to speak they are the best of the best. Each have their own style, but all of them are fabulous.|

After a stint in nursing school, I married my lovely wife Karen and finished my undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida. In 1992 we followed Christ's call to Princeton Seminary, where I earned my Master of Divinity in 1995. I was ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA) on June 26, 1995.I like to read—everything from the Bible and theology to Calvin and Hobbes and Dilbert. |Week 14 Augtust 26-Sept 1||HomeSchool Week Bill McDonald||Bill and Jo-Ellen McDonald like to say that they have been involved with homeschooling since the birth of their first daughter in 1981. "Something about looking at your own first sweet little angel causes you to think about the challenges they'll face and how we as new parents will best be able to help them." Parents to five wonderful and uniquely talented children, Bill and Jo decided after careful prayer and a great deal of study that teaching their own children was not only superior to other forms of pedagogy, but completely responsive to God's design for how humans best learn and engage the world around them. Like all homeschoolers of that era, they carefully crafted a philosophy of how humans learn which served as a guide in tailoring an individualized curriculum for each child. Every human is a unique God-design and comes "prewired" to learn in those roles which God has prepared in advance for them to fill. Bill and Jo's role as home educators is, first and foremost, that of a facilitator; to help each child discover who they are, how they fit into God's great plan and to answer the burning question that all humans want to know: " Why am I here and what is the purpose of my life?" Bill and Jo were active in Missouri's state organization, Families for Home Education, for many years including a term as Director for the St. Louis region and service as Exective Director for the organization in 1992-93. They have been married for 38 years this May and live in Maplewood, Missouri with their children, ranging in age from 19 through 30.|
