The executive chef is typically staffed by an individual who has extensive experience in a kitchen, currently attending or graduated from culinary school, and is actively pursuing a career in food service. The chef is responsible for ordering food, complying with the budget, setting the menu with our executive director, utilizing the sous chef, breakfast chef, and prep chef to prepare the meals.
We have one head chef each summer. The chef has to be extremely detail oriented, have excellent skills in the kitchen, be creative in using leftovers, managing the kitchen staff, wait staff, and dishwashers. The chef also sets the mood and tone of the kitchen which should be welcoming, calm, and hopefully fun.
As with all of our staff, an active and mature faith in Jesus Christ is the most important ingredient for a successful staff member. This is a seasonal position only.
