The Prep Chef is typically staffed by an individual who enjoys cooking but doesn’t have any formal training. The prep chef is responsible for basic prep such as chopping vegetables, making soups, and a variety of other prep needs for the meals. Basic knife skills are a must, willingness to take direction and learn from coworkers. You must be self-motivated and be willing to take initiative, but also take direction on projects. You must be self-motivated, efficient, keep a clean work space, and be organized.
We have one Prep Chef each summer. This person needs to have some experience cooking, have a servant’s heart, be willing to learn, and to do whatever the chef asks them to do.
As with all of our staff, an active and mature faith in Jesus Christ is the most important ingredient for a successful staff member. This is a seasonal position only.
